Former US President Donald Trump has launched a collection of digital trading cards depicting him in various guises including a superhero, astronaut and Nascar driver.
Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, has released a set of digital trading cards featuring images of him in different roles, such as a superhero, astronaut, and Nascar driver.
Trump described the cards as featuring "amazing ART of my Life & Career!"
This news comes after Trump announced his third bid for the presidency last month and sparked speculation recently with his statement that he would be making a "major announcement."
Donald Trump promoted a video on his social media platform, Truth Social, featuring an animated version of himself in front of Trump Tower in New York.
In the video, Trump appears in a superhero costume with a T emblem and lasers shooting from his eyes.
He also stated that the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) he is selling, which cost $99 each, are "very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting" and would make a good Christmas gift.
In addition to purchasing the trading cards, buyers will be entered into a sweepstakes with the opportunity to win prizes such as a gala dinner or a game of golf with Donald Trump.
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are being promoted as a digital alternative to collectibles, have faced criticism due to potential risks in the market.
These "one-of-a-kind" digital assets can be bought and sold like any other property, but do not have a physical form. They are essentially certificates of ownership for virtual or physical items.
