Al Horford Disqualified in the Third Quarter of the Celtics vs. Magic Game
Boston Celtics forward Al Horford was removed from Friday's game against the Orlando Magic at TD Garden in the third quarter.
Horford received a flagrant two-foul, leading to his ejection, after committing a foul on Moritz Wagner just 1:21 into the quarter.
During an inbound play in the front court, Horford aggressively elbowed Wagner in the groin area as he tried to shake free of him.
After a video review, the referees determined that Horford's action constituted a flagrant two fouls, resulting in his automatic ejection from the game.
Wagner, who previously played for the Celtics during the 2020-21 season, was also given an off-ball foul on the play.
Horford will face a financial penalty for the infraction, as flagrant two fouls carry a minimum fine of $2,000.
Horford returned to the court for the first time since December 4th after missing five games for health and safety protocols and personal reasons.
He played 16 minutes, scoring six points on 2-for-4 shooting and adding six rebounds to his stats.
In addition to his scoring and rebounding, Horford recorded three blocks during the game.
